Faridabad is situated in the state of Haryana and is a major industrial city of the state. This city is located on the plains of the river Yamuna and is surrounded by the Aravalli Hills on the western and south-western side. With the initiation of new-fangled industries and commercial setups, the place has become a significant spot for business travelers. Its proximity to Delhi has added to the significance of Faridabad.

Moreover, Faridabad is not only about industries and business alone. It also grabs the attraction of the tourists because of the presence of few striking places of interest including the Badhkal Lake, Baba Farid Tomb and Raja Nahar Singh Palace. It also attracts a large number of tourists in the month of February when the Suraj Kund Fair is held near the Suraj Kund Lake. This fair is a podium that exhibits a rich collection of art and craft products from various states of the nation.

Faridabad got its name from Sheikh Farid, or Baba Farid, as he is commonly known. He established the city in 1607 AD in order to defend the highway which passed through it. Baba Farid Tomb located here in the city has been made in his honor and is counted among one of the major attractions in Faridabad.
